It looks like Coachella will be staying put for a while. The "Los Angeles Times" says the city council in Indio, California - where the festival has been held since 1999 - approved Goldenvoice's proposal to stage the music and arts event there through at least 2030.
They also approved the promotion company's plans to expand from three festival weekends to five. In addition to the two Coachella weekends, Goldenvoice also hosts the country music-themed Stagecoach Festival. And now, Indio has agreed to let them put on two more in the fall, although Goldenvoice has yet to announce any specific plans for the bonus events.
Meanwhile, the 2013 edition of Coachella is scheduled to get under way next Friday, April 12th, with the second weekend starting April 19th. Stagecoach will take place the weekend after that from April 26th to the 28th.
