Riverside Co. Hits 100% ICU Bed Use, While San Bernardino Close To Capacity

Hospitals in the IE are overwhelmed and the surge in coronavirus cases is to blame. As of last night Riverside County ICU capacity is at 100%, leaving no certified ICU beds open. San Bernardino County is close to capacity as well.

From the Press Enterprise:

It’s rare for county hospitals to reach 100% of their listed capacity, according to Shane Reichardt, a spokesman for the Emergency Management Department. They were at full capacity once earlier during the pandemic, in July.

Be safe and take caution, we are not nearly out of the woods yet.

Another thing to think about is the impending Nurses strike that could begin on Christmas Eve. This will effect three area hospitals. More details can be found here.
