The cause of death for 8-year-old Urijah Roque who died in Colton on July 4th was confirmed on Monday by officials as being caused by an illegal firework. Urijah was struck in the chest by an illegal malfunctioning firework that was discharged from a mortar-style tube during an unofficial block party. The boy died at 11:25pm at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center on the 4th of July. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department did not learn of the child's death until much later, at which time there was no evidence of the illegal fireworks.
