TikTok is one of my favorite apps at the moment. It's uber-popular and has even influence some of the music that gets played on the radio station. There has been plenty of distrust of the app since the Donald Trump presidency. The main reason for this is because ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok is owned by China. There were suspicions that ByteDance was using TikTok to gather information on the app's users.
The Federal Communications Commission has been investigating the app and its use of the users' information. The FCC even suggests that it could be a threat to national security.
