Should celebs be held accountable for their actions?
Do they have the platform to make the DIFFERENCE?
Is this subject ONLY to Nicki?
Who else would you want to be held accountable?
Chuck Creekmur, Owner of one of the most visited hip hop blogs on the planet - AllHipHop.com penned an open letter to the female rapper Nicki Minaj.
Creekmur addresses the artwork Nicki Minaj released for her single 'Anaconda'. Creekmur is a father to a young daughter who looks up to Nicki Minaj. Creekmur has concerns about the welfare of his daughter's influences and the impact on the hiphop community. The hiphop father says on his letter " when I peeped the artwork[Anaconda] for your latest single, I wasn't even shocked. I was just disappointed." He then goes on to say "The dad guy is not a happy camper, particulary now that is lil' girl is transitioning into a young lady". He continues to compare Nicki with legends like Ruby Dee and Maya Angelou. Creekmur expresses his feelings on her sexualization and her image now in the Hip hop industry. Nick fires back at her critics by posting on her instagram, a Sports Illustrated Magazine cover in a similiar pose and claims "acceptable, angelic". To see the complete open letter click here.
