Three college students in New York recently purchased a couch for $20 but what they ended up finding was several cash-stuffed envelopes inside that all together totaled more than $40,000. The trio admits that they considered splitting the cash and using it to pay off student loans and travel the world. However, after finding a name written on one of the envelopes, they decided to hunt down the couch's original owner. The elderly widow who declined to be named revealed that her kids had dropped off her couch at the Salvation Army and not realized her life savings were in it. As a thank you, she gave each of the students $1,000
