'Overwatch,' a video game released by Blizzard in 2016 has been praised not just for its gameplay but also for embracing an ethnically diverse cast of characters. Blizzard also revealed late last year that one of the title characters was gay. It was recently revealed though that Blizzard is embracing even MORE diversity.
The character Symmetra, a support character in the game, was revealed to be on Autism Spectrum by game director Jeffrey Kaplan in a letter to a fan.
"Symmetra is autistic." Kaplan wrote. "She is one of our most beloved heroes and we think she does a great job of representing just how awesome someone with autism can be."
This is one of my personal favorite games to play and knowing that Blizzard has been at the forefront of inclusiveness with this game makes it all the better.
