Halsey Offers To Pay Fan's Ticket For Speeding While Blasting 'Nightmare'

A fan was pulled over for driving under the influence of Halsey's new song — and the pop star offered to bail her out of the bill.

On Tuesday morning (May 21), the pop star caught word of a fan, who goes by @francesca on Twitter, getting hit with a ticket for speeding during a recent traffic stop while blasting Halsey's latest banger, "Nightmare." The fan admitted in a tweet: “Driving home from Penn State I got pulled over/given a ticket for the first time ever and when asked why I was going 99 in a 70 I was ~dangerously~ close to admitting I was bangin out to @halsey’s new song Nightmare."

Hearing this, the 24-year-old responded with a gesture to pay the ticket fee — but not without issuing a reasonable reminder to drive safely. “What’s your Venmo. I’ll pay your ticket. DRIVE SAFELY PLEASE!!!!” Halsey replied in a quote-tweet.

Overwhelmed with gratitude, the user responded: "You’re really so amazing thank you so much!!!!! I’m still waiting for it in the mail so I don’t know how much it will be yet but my Venmo is @fvr5059. Hoping it won’t be too high."

It's no surprise that fans are already beginning to fall under the spell of the songbird's alt-pop anthem, the first offering from her upcoming third studio album, due out this year. Days after premiering the rageful record, Halsey also delivered the first-ever live performance of "Nightmare" in Minneapolis, inciting a burst of screams and cheers from anxious fans.
