Kanye West Announces New 'Jesus Is King' Release Date

Kanye West's new album Jesus Is King was supposed to come out on September 27. When that day came and went it gave us seriousYandhi flashbacks, but Kim Kardashian promised it would drop on the 29th. When that day came and went, it was hard to believe we'd ever hear Ye's gospel album. However, he's been hosting listening parties all over the country, and during the latest one at George Washington University, Lisner Auditorium in Washington D.C. on Saturday (October 12), he reportedly announced the record's new release date.

"‘Jesus Is King’ sounds amazing!" tweeted someone in attendance. "Kanye said the album is TENTATIVELY dropping on October 25. As of yesterday, he was still working on new music, which sounds amazing. The IMAX film was very moving. He also read us scriptures. Mark 1:15 is his favorite scripture." Another attendee confirmed everything in the original tweet was true. So Jesus Is King is coming out October 25, unless of course it doesn't. Check out the tweets below.

In addition to the new collection of songs, West is also releasing a corresponding IMAX film called Jesus Is Lord that is supposed to premiere this month. Perhaps he's planning to release both projects simultaneously? We'll just have to wait and see!
