Collaborating with longtime producer C DeVon, JuJu Martin’s new track feels tailor-made to be bumped loudly from car speakers.
Known as “a software salesman turned rapper/songwriter,” artist Alex 'JuJu' Martin might not have the most typical hip-hop backstory - but with his latest releases, he’s shown that he’s making significant steps towards becoming the breakthrough artist many would dream of being.
The performer, born and raised in Chicago, originally moved to Southern California to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. However, he always maintained an interest in music and significant talent as a rapper and was constantly encouraged by his producer and friend, Christian 'C DeVon' Scott.
In August 2023, Alex released his fifth solo single, ‘Ride,’ which came from previous successful releases throughout 2022/23.
‘Ride’ feels like a bona fide, sun-soaked summer jam. Upbeat production, carefree escapism lyrics, and catchy melodies are the name of the game here. It feels like a track engineered to be blasted from your car speakers, not to labor the point. (Another plus for the artist’s unconventional career choices…)
‘Ride’ marks the latest high point in Alex’s still-growing career. Since moving to L.A. in 2019, he’s been honored to perform at various venues in Southern California and clubs like ‘Treasures’ in Las Vegas and 'Onyx' in Atlanta. That’s all before mentioning that his previous singles - such as ‘Show Out’ and ‘Honey’ - have helped him rack up six-digit streaming figures.
JuJu’s on the rise. Take note.
