After going missing for several days amid conflicting accounts of when he was shot by the Las Vegas killer, Mandalay Bay security guard Jesus Campos has resurfaced—on today’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. There, Campos confirmed that he was wounded before Stephen Paddock killed 58 attendees of a country music festival 32 floors below his hotel room. (Preliminary reports claimed that Campos was shot after Paddock began killing people, creating the false impression that the security guard may have prevented further carnage.) As The Washington Post notes, prior to today, Campos had skipped out on previously scheduled interviews with FOX News and four other outlets, and had fallen out of contact with his union reps.
Still, so much mystery surrounds the motive of this maniac shooter.
