The days when a MoviePass membership granted you one movie a day appear to be over. On Monday, the company announced that members will be able to see just three movies a month with a pass, although those who want to see more will be offered discount tickets. MoviePass assures that the change won't affect most customers. "It has become clear that a small number--only 15 percent--of the subscriber base has been stressing the system," Ted Farnsworth, CEO of MoviePass parent company Helios and Matheson, said in a news release.
The company also announced that it will not raise the monthly subscription price, the rate will stay at $9.99.
The new membership rules go into effect on August 15. [CNN]
