On Wednesday, a $168 sweatshirt bearing the message, "Being fat is not beautiful, it's an excuse," went up for sale on Revolve's website. Understandably, people were a tad upset, with Jameela Jamil tweeting, "Jesus Christ, @Revolve, what are you doing?" It turns out the "fat" comment was something someone once said to plus-size model Paloma Elsesser, but Revolve didn't explain that alongside the sweatshirt posting. Lena Dunham, who was also a partner in the campaign (so were Cara Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse and Emily Ratajkowski), took to Instagram to denounce the rollout, while Revolve responded by apologizing, pulling the sweatshirt line and donating $20,000 to a charity that stood to benefit from the proceeds.
