Childish Gambino (a.k.a. Donald Glover) has finally given fans their first glimpse of the secret project he filmed with Rihanna in Cuba this past summer. Pitchfork reports that Gambino premiered a trailer for Guava Island at his PHAROS festival in New Zealand over the weekend. The preview opens with the rapper strumming a guitar and singing as Rihanna walks up behind him. After he misses a note, she tells him, "Practice is perfection." Later, as they cavort around a tropical island, Glover tells Riri, "What’s wrong with me is that we live in paradise, but none of us have the time or the means to actually live here.” The film was directed by Hiro Murai, who helmed Gambino's "This is America" video, as well as several episodes of Glover's FX series Atlanta, although the preview bills the project--which also co-stars Black Panther star Letitia Wright--as "a Childish Gambino film." A release date and other distribution details have yet to be revealed.
