The internet has rallied to the side of Maryann Rolle, a Bahamian caterer who claims she lost her life savings after serving meals at the ill-fated Fyre Festival and then getting stiffed by festival founder Billy McFarland. Page Six reports that after Rolle appeared in the Netflix documentary Fyre, she started a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe that has brought in nearly $160,000 as of Tuesday morning--surpassing its $123,000 goal. "I pushed myself to the limit catering no less than a 1,000 meals per day," she wrote. "As I make this plea it’s hard to believe and embarrassing to admit that I was not paid…I was left in a big hole! My life was changed forever, and my credit was ruined by Fyre Fest. My only resource today is to appeal for help."
Meanwhile, Rolle tells TMZ she thinks Ja Rule should cough up $100,00 to help her out. "I feel from the bottom of my heart he is sorry. I don't know if he is aware of the pain and hard work I went through," she says. "If he's sorry, he should be donating something to me." She adds, "Sorry is more than a word, it's an action...I would hope he donates $100,000."
