Ariana Grande is skipping the 61st Annual Grammy Awards after disagreeing with producers over which songs she would perform. According to Variety , the pop star felt “insulted” because producers initially refused to allow her to perform her latest single “7 Rings.” While a comprise was reached, which included Grande performing the track as part of a medley, the singer pulled out after producers insisted that the second song be of their choosing. A source close to the situation says similar stipulations were not imposed on other performers at the show. Grande is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance for “God Is a Woman” and Best Pop Vocal Album for 2018’s Sweetener at this year’s ceremony.
