Jussie Smollett’s legal troubles became the focus of a headline-making sketch on this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live. The “Legal Shark Tank” featured a variety of celebrities currently in legal trouble pleading their cases to a panel of high-profile attorneys to see who might take their case. Cast member Chris Redd portrayed the Empire actor, who greeted the panel by saying, "You won't believe this but I was just attacked outside the studio by Donald Trump himself!" When host John Mulaney-as-Alan Dershowitz asked, "Jussie? Is that true?" Redd-as-Smollett noted, "Are there cameras outside? Then no, it is not!" He added, "I broke humanity. But if you take my case, I'm offering spoilers for the next season of Empire. I die." During the episode's cold open, Ben Stiller reprised his role of Donald Trump‘s disgraced attorney Michael Cohen and made the jab, “For too many years I was loyal to a man when I should not have been. Now I know how Khloé Kardashian feels.” Thomas Rhett also appeared during the episode as the musical guest.
