The makers of a special gauze designed to treat gunshot wounds are applauding Taylor Swift for giving a shoutout to emergency first aid. “We’re grateful to Taylor Swift for shining a light upon the need for preparedness and access to bleeding control supplies," a rep for QuikClot tells The Blast after Swift mentioned their product in her Elle piece, "30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30." The company adds, "It is our hope that this leads to more awareness of this important topic, as QuikClot dressing is just one tool among many used to make our communities safer." Swift had written in the piece, "After the Manchester Arena bombing and the Vegas concert shooting, I was completely terrified to go on tour...There was a tremendous amount of planning, expense, and effort put into keeping my fans safe. My fear of violence has continued into my personal life. I carry QuikClot army grade bandage dressing, which is for gunshot or stab wounds."
