UFC star Conor McGregor took to Twitter early Tuesday to announce that he's retiring from fighting. "Hey guys, quick announcement. I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as 'Mixed Martial Art' today," the 30-year-old tweeted. "I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper pina coladas on me, fellas!" The Irish fighter, whose nickname is "The Notorious," leaves the sport with a 21-4-0 record, as well as UFC belts in two divisions. The news comes after he was arrested in South Florida earlier this month for smashing someone's cell phone after they tried to take his picture--and about one hour after McGregor appeared on Monday's Tonight Show to drink at an Irish pub in New York with Jimmy Fallon. While McGregor told Fallon during that segment that he was already financially "set for life," he also claimed he was "in talks" to appear in a UFC fight this summer. [Business Insider]
