Tyra Banks Comes Out of Retirement for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover

As Tyra herself might say, "Fierce!" On Wednesday, the 45-year-old supermodel came out of retirement to pose on one of three covers for the 2019 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. People notes that it's the third SI Swimsuit cover for Banks, who became the first black woman to appear on the cover alone in 1997. “My first one was 23 years ago, how crazy is that,” Banks told Good Morning America. “I’m like, 'Damn--I’m 45, dog!'” She adds that they "re-created" her 1997 shoot for this year's pic--except this time she's "25 pounds heavier.” The issue's other two covers feature American soccer star Alex Morgan and former New England Patriots cheerleader-turned-supermodel Camille Kostek.
