Hollywood and fans around the world are mourning the loss of Cameron Boyce. The Disney Channel star has died at the young age of 20 – a rep tells Us Weekly that he passed in his sleep due to a seizure from an “ongoing medical condition” he was being treated for. This morning, TMZ reported that they learned he suffered from Epilepsy.
Boyce made his big screen debut at age nine, going on to star as Adam Sandler and Salma Hayek’s on-screen son in 2010’s “Grown Ups.” He’s best known for his role in the Disney show “Jessie” from 2011 to 2015.
Tributes to the late actor have been pouring in from Boyce’s co-stars and industry friends on social media. That includes posts by his “Jessie” co-star Skai Jackson, his teammates on the celebrity basketball team Hollywood Knights, as well as Charles Esten, Adam Sandler, Kenny Ortega, Jhene Aiko, and James Charles. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
Fans will see Boyce on the small screen at least one more time. He’s reprising his role in the third installment of Disney’s “Descendants” TV film franchise, premiering on August 2nd on Disney Channel.
