Great news for those schools in Riverside County who have safety plans ready and in place to reopen schools, they officially CAN reopen according to Riverside County health officials. Corona-Norco Unified School District, Desert Sands Unified School District, Murrieta Valley Unified School District, and Palo Verde Valley Unified School Districts are all awaiting the next step to get the final green light from the California Department of Public Health.
As you may know, some private schools have been open and offering in-person instruction.
According to RUHS, the waiver review process for reopening schools is available to all districts, and applications will be reviewed by a county assessment team on an ongoing basis. [CBS 2]
More school districts could seek to reopen now that Riverside County's positivity rate is below 10%.
