Hurricane Ian made landfall in Florida on Wednesday as a Category 4 storm, leaving more than 2.6 million homes and businesses without power on Thursday and the death toll is still climbing.
One way to help Floridians and others affected by the hurricane is to donate money to the American Red Cross and Salvation Army who are trained in responding to disasters like Hurricane Ian.
Donations to the American Red Cross can be made online or by phone at 1-800-HELP-NOW (1-800-435-7669). Donors can text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
The Red Cross has an "urgent need" for blood donations. You can find a blood drive in your area at redcrossblood.org or by calling 1-800-733-2767.
Donations also can be made to the Salvation Army online or by phone at 1-800-SAL-ARMY (1-800-725-2769).
Additionally, here are some other non-profits working with victims that could use your help.
