Toyota is recalling nearly two-and-half million Prius models worldwide. That includes over 800-thousand in the U.S. The Japanese auto giant announced today that the recall is to fix a hybrid system problem that could cause the car to lose power. Toyota says the recall covers certain Prius models built between October of 2008 and November of 2014. This is the second recall in two months for Toyota. [USA Today]
A massive beef recall today as an Arizona company is recalling six-and-a-half million pounds of beef over possible salmonella contamination. The JBS Tolleson company has been identified as the probable source of the raw meat products linked to dozens of reported cases of salmonella in 16 states. The beef is sold under a number of names including 5 Star Beef, Cedar River Farms, Showcase, La Herencia, Four Star, Clear River and thinkpure.
The affected products were packaged between July 26th to September 7th, 2018 and have an establishment number of EST.267. Anyone who has these products is urged to throw them away or return them to where they were bought.
