Think it's just an urban legend that people scatter their loved ones' ashes at Disney World and Disneyland? Think again: The Wall Street Journal interviewed current and former custodians, who confirmed that, yes, they have been enlisted to find and clean up human ashes on a regular basis at the parks. The investigation found that ashes have been spread in expected places like flower beds, bushes and lawns, as well as on rides--including Pirates of the Caribbean and in the water underneath the Dumbo ride. Unsurprisingly, the Haunted Mansion is also quite a popular spot. “The Haunted Mansion probably has so much human ashes in it that it’s not even funny,” a Disneyland custodian said.
