Nicki Minaj Accused of Cultural Appropriation After SNLThere's a fine line between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation. The great debate with Nicki Minaj continued after she performed on Saturday Night Live last weekend.Minaj's new song Chun-Li, named after the 'Street Fighter' character, was already the topic for discussion when it was first released, and now Minaj's SNL performance of the song has given appropriation accusers some more material.Minaj performed Chun-Lin on stage in front of an Asian-style set, with Asian backup dancers, wearing a traditional East Asian outfit, one similar to the original Chun Li character. The internet was quick to let their opinion be known, with many people calling her out yet again for cultural appropriation. While others came to her defense saying it's appreciation and adding that Minaj's great-grandfather was Japanese. This isn't the first time Nicki has been called out for Asian culture appropriation. Are her accusers right or are they being overly sensitive?
