Mexican-American Designer Uses San Marcos Blankets To Create Hoodies

Growing up my family always had a San Marcos blanket laying around the house. I had one my parents had one, my grandparents had one...

San Marcos blankets are basically a Latino household essential right?

A Mexican-American designer by the name of Brenda Equihua is staying true to her heritage by creating a one-of-a-kind collection inspired by the famous cobijas.

The collection is called, "New Classics" and features coats, a puffed bomber, leopard skirt and hooded top, plush zip-up, and hoodies.

"The aim was to create something that everyone from every background and every social class could identify with,” Equihua told Mitu.

I know what you're thinking how much do these designs cost? Prices for the collection range from $200 to $475. A little pricey for me but I still admire the collection!

Check out the full collection here.
