Chipotle is hoping to hire 20,000 new workers by raising its average hourly rate to $15 an hour. The chain will also counter the restaurant industry's latest labor crunch by offering employees a referral bonus of $200 for crew members and $750 for apprentices or general managers.
Chipotle CEO Brian Nicco told CNBC says this current labor crunch is the most challenging he's ever seen. His hiring managers told him it's not just stimulus money holding people back from returning to the labor market, but also uncertainty about childcare and school plans.
The company is hosting a virtual career fair this Thursday on Discord if you want more information about pay, benefits, or a potential six-figure career.
