An 87-year-old retired LA County Sheriff's Department homicide detective was found dead in a freezer in a Riverside home on Sunday after Police had been called to perform a welfare check on Miriam Travis at her home in the 6600 block of New Ridge Drive in the Mission Grove area. The daughter who also lived at the home was questioned, and while searching the house, police smelled a foul odor and officers eventually found Miriam Travis in a freezer in the garage.
