Walkdown Will Releases New Music Video For "Talk of the Town"

Perhaps more than any other rap scene around Washington, D.C.’s music scene has been incredibly violent in very close-quarters for many years and all too predictably the artists that have risen through the District’s ranks are sadly ripped away from us. Either by violence or imprisonment, this situation has greatly impeded the area’s growth that it has been primed to see that has been awaited for over a decade now. Walkdown Will’s legal problems and absence from the scene have been notable and well-documented, as the youthful rapper awaits trial for the alleged murder of another rival rapper who had exchanged numerous disses with Will. However his team, Major Life Music, who are the machine behind Will’s counterpart Balla, that has put their area in D.C. on the map in dramatic fashion over the last several months, rising to the very top of their city. Will is poised to follow in those footsteps if his legal situation can be resolved soon, but even while he is away his team is orchestrating moves to keep his name alive in a scene whose fans are notoriously unforgiving.

Walkdown Will recruited notable PG County, Maryland rapper Goonew who was recently freed from a brief prison stint due to lack of evidence himself, who turned up the music video in Will’s absence and celebrated both Goonew’s return home and only built further anticipation for Will’s eventual release. Cheecho handled the ominous and trunk-rattling production and has certainly been one of the backbones for music in his area, both as an architect for the sound and as one of the main orchestrators of the music-making process period. Hopefully Walkdown Will’s legal situation can be resolved soon so he can fully chase his musical dreams and live up to the potential his whole region sees in him.
