Update 11/19/21 at 2:56pm: The lockdown was lifted after authorities found the report of a student with a gun to be false.
Apple Valley High School has to be placed on lockdown this afternoon "out of an abundance of caution" due to a report of a student with a gun.
According the the school district's Facebook post, "The school will not be able to release students until the full protocol is complete. All students are safe at this time and we request your assistance in keeping the campus calm and secure. We will update when there is more information available,"
