Walmart announced Monday that it will no longer sell cigarettes in some of its 4,700 US locations.
The Wall Street Journal says many of the stores no longer selling cigarettes are in California, Florida, Arkansas and New Mexico.
Walmart isn't the only store to give up smokes. Target stopped selling in 1996; CVS did the same in 2014.
Walmart is willing to take a 7 to 8% annual loss in order to grow it health services footprint. [CBS]
