“Peaches,” performed by Jack Black in the Super Mario Bros Movie, will be eligible to submit for Best Original Song consideration at the Oscars, Variety reports.
In the film, Black's character, Bowser, plays an incredible piano ballad that extols his love for Princess Peach (voiced by Anya Taylor Joy), who is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. The song is co-written by Jack Black, the film’s directors Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and Eric Osmond and John Spiker.
The song is a hit with fans! Since the music video was released on April 7, it has received over 5 million views on YouTube and is currently No. 2 on the trending page for music. It's also top 10 of the iTunes streaming charts.
