Nelly Responds To Rape Allegations - "I Am Completely Innocent"

TMZ reports that St. Louis rapper Nelly was arrested in Washington state Saturday morning on rape allegations, but was eventually released with no charges and no bail.

People have been quick to take sides in the situation, with notables such as T.I. and Akon coming to Nelly's defense, while some fans are attempting to stay neutral until more details are available.

Akon goes as far to say that guys like he and Nelly are targets for these kinds of situations.

Nelly has taken to his personal social media accounts to address the allegations, saying that he's the one who's the victim.

The rapper's lawyers released a statement later on in the day defending his honor, saying "Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation, clearly establishes the allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once the scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. Nelly is prepared to pursue all all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation."

Nelly canceled his show for Saturday night's slot on the Florida Georgia Line tour in Washington amidst the uproar.
