Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez has penned a powerful essay on the blatant under-representation if Latinos in Hollywood, calling it "devastating."
She says Latinos are "prominent and loyal" and make up “one of the largest demographics at the box office every opening weekend."
“To be seen and heard is a simple human need,” Rodriguez continues. “To be invisible in a world of loud voices is heartbreaking and dehumanizing. The under-representation of Latinos in Hollywood both on and off screen is not just a feeling; it’s a sad reality.”
Gina has always been a strong advocate for equality within the industry, which is BEAUTIFUL.
