Fans of Friends were in for a special treat on Wednesday (March 20) when Courteney Cox shared a nostalgic (and hilarious) AF post about the show. She shared a video of her visiting her character Monica Geller's old apartment building in New York.
"Goodnight guys, I'm going home!" Courteney calls out in the video as she walks toward the building used in all the exterior shots in Friends. She even added a snippet of the mid-episode music played while scenes were changing on the show, as well. Courteney's caption also paid tribute to the show, styling it in the same way as every episode title of Friends. "The One Where My Rent Went Up $12,000," she wrote. She even added "miss those days" as hashtag.
During an appearance on Busy Tonight, Courteney revealed she was at her co-star and longtime bestie Jennifer Aniston's house when she posted the video.“I was at Jennifer’s house,” she revealed. “She’s like, ‘Post that now and see what happens,’ because she’s not on Instagram yet. I’m thinking to myself, it’s probably better to post this between 9 and 12 because that’s where my fans are. But I didn’t, I posted it late at night and it’s still — it worked.”
Courteney also joked about how she totally forgot that they used a real NYC apartment building for establishing shots on the beloved sitcom. “I was having dinner and someone said, ‘You know, the Friends building is just about two blocks over,'” she said. “The Friends building? What does that even mean?… I didn’t remember the interstitial shots outside.”
Courteney's next Instagram goal? Getting Jen on the social media platform for more nostalgic Friends posts.
