32-year-old Kenneth French who was shot and killed by an off-duty Los Angeles Police Officer at the Corona Costco this past Friday night was mentally disabled and described as a "gentle giant" by his cousin Rick Shureih. Shureigh also added that Kenneth was a "non-violent, non-aggressive, non-verbal". Kenneth's parents were also shot and wounded in the incident. The man's family is seeking answers as to why he was shot.
According to Corona police, the incident started when, "Without provocation, a male unknown to the officer’s family assaulted the officer while the officer was holding his young child,” a statement said. “This attack resulted in the officer firing his weapon, striking the male and two of the male’s family members.”.
