UC Riverside Study Finds Commuters Exposed to Dangerous Cancerous Chemicals

According to a new UC Riverside study, California commuters inhale chemicals that are known to cause cancer. The study on Riverside County commuters found at least 70% of them had a least a 10% chance of exceeding the threshold of "safe" exposure to benzene. Long exposure to this chemical can decrease red blood cells, harm bone marrow, and can lead to anemia. And at least 50% of commuters where found to inhale formaldehyde, another chemical linked to cancer, at dangerous levels.
