"The Talk" Takes Time Off For Internal Review

CBS' "The Talk" Rings The Closing Bell At The New York Stock Exchange

CBS's "The Talk" canceled episodes for Monday and Tuesday (March 15th and 16th). Reports say the network is looking into comments made by Sharon Osbourne about TV host Piers Morgan.

As you recall, Morgan was extremely critical of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, after her interview with Oprah Winfrey last week. Morgan left his position of "Good Morning Britain" after the backlash.

On "The Talk" last Wednesday, Osbourne defended Morgan. During a heated discussion with Sheryl Underwood, Osbourne said, “I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist.” Underwood said, “while you are standing by your friend, it appears that you are giving validation or safe haven to something that he has uttered that is racist.”

In a statement Friday night, CBS said, “We are committed to a diverse, inclusive, and respectful workplace. All matters related to the Wednesday episode of The Talk are currently under internal review.” [Deadline]
