J. Cole imagines a timeline where The Notorious B.I.G. and 2Pac lived long enough to resolve their glorified beef.

On Friday, February 6, the North Carolina native delivered his anticipated album The Fall-Off. Toward the end of the project's second disc, Cole includes a track called "What If" produced by Beat Butcha and TaeBeast. The song begins with Cole rapping from the perspective of the late Biggie Smalls, who reaches out to 'Pac following the drama that unfolded after he dropped "Hit 'Em Up." Instead of reflecting on their hatred, Cole has both artists apologize to one another.

"Check, instead of escalatin'/At a time when n***as say 'Big, let's decimate 'em'/I'm tellin' him chill 'cause although he violatin'/In my heart I could never hate 'em," Cole raps as if he were Biggie.

"Yo letter helped me understand/The power in love, the choice to be the bigger man," Cole continues as 'Pac. "Know s**t got outta hand/I'll take the blame for it/For my mistakes, I couldn't take you gettin' slain for it/For fallin' victim to ego, vengeance, and dollar signs/I wanna say from the heart, 'I apologize.'"

"What If" is one of several standout tracks from The Fall-Off that appear on iHeartRadio's Rap Rising playlist. In celebration of J. Cole's new album, you can catch other bangers like "Two Six," "SAFETY" and "Run A Train" featuring Future on the weekly playlist. There are also fresh tracks by EsDeeKid, Tkandz, Lil Baby, and more.
