A trial is underway in Palm Springs for a quadruple homicide that the prosecutor is calling executions. The suspect, 22-year-old Jose Vladimir Larin Garcia of Cathedral City pleaded not guilty. He is accused of fatally shooting Carlos Campos Rivera, 25, Jacob Montgomery, 19, Juan Duarte Raya, 18, and Yuliana Garcia, 17 just before midnight on February 3, 2019.
In the trial, which started on Monday, November 29, the Riverside County Deputy District Attorney Samantha Paixao said, "They didn't stand a chance," and also told the jurors, "All four were executed. Jose Vladimir Larin Garcia is the executioner." as she described each victim being shot twice by the gunman.
If convicted, Garcia could face the death penalty.
