47-year-old Samuel Davalos Pasillas, a pastor at a Victorville church, was arrested March 13th for allegedly paying two hitmen about $40,000 to kill his daughter's boyfriend.
Authorities started investigating when Riverside police were called out to a local hospital on October 21st, 2023 due to an adult male victim with gunshot wounds. The victim informed police that he was shot while driving on Grove Community Drive near Plainview Street in the Orangecrest area of Riverside, when a vehicle pulled up next to him and began shooting at his vehicle. The victim was struck several times, but managed to drive himself to the hospital.
After investigating, authorities learned that Passillas had hired 55-year-old Juan Manuel Cebreros of Long Beach, who was also arrested, and another man who has not been arrested yet, to kill the victim. They are both being held on $1 million bail each.
