Wallet Hub, a financial services company, performed a study where it ranked cities in the nation from the "Most Educated Cities" to the "Least Educated Cities". The California metropolitan areas that made the top of the list were "San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara" at number 2 and "San Francisco-Oakland-Berkeley" at number 6. Out of 150 cities/metropolitan areas, "Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario" came in toward the end at number 137. "Fresno" was number 140, "Salinas" number 142, "Modesto" number 146, "Bakersfield" number 147 and "Visalia" came in dead last at number 150.
The grading was "based on a formula that included the share of adults with high school diplomas and college degrees and the quality of public education" and "It also weighted racial and gender gaps" according to KTLA.com.
