Outrage erupted over flyers posted describing what "good girls" wear to prom. Many found the flyers posted at Stanton College Prep High School in Jacksonville, FL demeaning.
Only in Florida? Sadly, that's not the case. While this particular story originates in Florida, the the prom dress--dress code drama is unraveling all over the nation as we head into the season. This school just happens to be one of the first to set off the twittersphere.
The student body responded with #scpgoodgirl and the flyers were taken down, but not before many people took to social media to speak out against them.
Students posted video to Twitter of an apparent apology from administrators.
“Please do accept my apology for this poor delivery of information. Our intent is to make sure prom is enjoyable and memorable," the principal said.
The school district said on Twitter Tuesday that the displays were not appropriate.
WAY TO GO, Stanton College Prep!
