A lawmaker in Pennsylvania may have figured out a way to fight against bullying by fining parents $500 and requiring them to do community service if their child is caught bullying other kids at school.
The bill is being proposed by State Rep. Frank Burns, and it will be enforced by giving parents a three strike system. The first time parents are warned. The second time parents would have to take a bullying class and bully resolution conference. The third time parents will be fined $500 and may have to perform community service. "If holding parents accountable is what it takes to reel in their kids' bad behavior, then let's do it," said Rep. Burns. Burns has also proposed that the Department of Education to start an anonymous reporting system for bullying. [Fox 8]
