The San Bernardino County Fire Department is still on the scene of the 147 acre Sierra Fire that began last night after 9:40 p.m near the Fontana/Rialto city border along the 15 freeway. While the fire is no longer a threat, the fire department is staying in the area to reinforce the containment lines. Thankfully, winds are expected to die down today.
Evacuation orders were never issued, but some of our listener families decided to pack up just in case. Can you blame them? If there is anything that we've learned from the Northern California fires is that if a fire is raging and moving at a rapid pace, there ,may not even be enough time for officials to issue the evacuation order. You have to do what is safest for you and your family.
