On Wednesday night’s episode of The Masked Singer, judge Jenny McCarthy correctly guessed (kind of) the identity of the celebrity disguised as The Pineapple. Clues about The Pineapple included the fact they had been through some dark times, beat a life-threatening disease and had a bumper sticker that says "pipe dream.” After the celebrity gave a less than stellar performance of Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive,” McCarthy guessed it was either Cheech Marin or Tommy Chong. It was soon revealed to be Chong. Other guesses were Sugar Ray Leonard, Jimmy Buffett and Kid Rock. Chong/The Pineapple had faced off against The Raven, a former talk show host who recently suffered a personal tragedy. Twitter seemed to believe that it's Ricki Lake, whose ex-husband died in 2017. (it HAS to be Ricki)
Now, on to my personal thought's on the show... While I was really excited about this concept for a reality/competition show, I'm starting to have a change of heart. My whole family watched last week and decided to make this our new watch-together-family-show, which meant letting my younger two (Aiden and Cassie) stay up passed their bedtime. Now, after last night's reveal, I'm thinking they better do something real quick to turn things around for my family to watch again. Yes, it's still funny and entertaining, but so far my kids have had NO CLUE who the revealed celebs are. I mean, I know who Tommy Chong is, but my kids didn't and that made it a super let down for them, two weeks in a row. Maybe this is why it's on at 9pm? The demo must be much higher than my family is. We'll give it another week to see if it keeps my kids attention.
Anyway, off my soapbox. Are you watching? What do you think of the show?
