A Riverside student who was able to gain access to student profiles and change grades could be facing a felony charge. According to the Press Enterprise, the student, 15, is believed to be from Encore Junior/Senior High School for the Arts in downtown Riverside and was able to use a technique called " spearphishing" to trick teachers into thinking he was a upper level administrator. From there he asked for the usernames and passwords to access school computers. Apparently, this worked on four teachers who did not catch on they were sending confidential information to an email outside of the school.
What's worse, he changed his own grades for the better and for other students, for the worse. No bueno.
