It's time to share HER story.
The woman known only as “Emily Doe” in her 2016 sexual assault case against Brock Turner has revealed her name: Chanel Miller. That came as she announced her new memoir, “Know My Name,” which charts her life since the trial. Back in 2016, the statement Miller read at Turner’s sentencing hearing — after he was found guilty of three counts of felony sexual assault — went viral after being posted online. The case also became a fixture in the debate around rape and sexism after the presiding judge, Aaron Persky, sentenced Turner to six months in county jail for a conviction for which the maximum sentence was 14 years. - The Lily News on IG
This takes such courage to be able to do what she is doing with this book. Bravo, Chanel Miller. I know your name.
