Some people will do anything for attention, even if that means lying about a massive tragedy.
There was a ceremony at the White House on Monday honoring 11 people for their bravery during the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio last month. A man named Chris Grant was supposed to attend after he was shot during the El Paso massacre because he said he threw soda bottles to distract the shooter and to keep him from shooting others. Turns out, that was a flat out lie. Now, he was shot but when police reviewed the footage at the scene, they noticed he didn't do anything heroic. Chris went to the White House anyway but he didn't make it inside because he also had an outstanding warrant so the Secret Service detained him. His mother did make it inside and was awarded a certificate of commendation. After the ceremony, the White House removed Chris's name from its list of people being honored. Grant was later released from custody and it is unclear where the case stands.[ABC NEWS]
